Missouri Primary Care Association (MPCA)

OUR HISTORY

The Missouri Primary Care Association (MPCA) was founded in 1984 and in 2014, celebrated thirty years of successful advocacy and support for its member Community Health Centers.

In 2015, it was estimated that MPCA's member Health Centers served more than 500,000 patients at 200 different locations. What began as an experiment in community health care has evolved into a network of 29 Community, Migrant, and Homeless Health Centers across Missouri. MPCA collaborates with state agencies such as the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the Missouri Department of Social Services, and the Missouri Department of Mental Health to enhance the ability of its membership to provide and expand comprehensive primary care services. MPCAworks closely with educational institutions such as the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and education-focused groups such as Missouri's Area Health Education Centers to develop the health care workforce needed to care for Health Center patients. The Missouri Foundation for Health and the REACHFoundation are among MPCA's philanthropic partners in the quest to assure access to health care.
