Mat-Su Health Services

Mat-Su Health Services, Inc. located in Wasilla, Alaska, began as a community mental health center in 1977 and has provided comprehensive community mental health services continuously for the last 32 years to the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. In the last four years MHS has provided an average of 26,000 mental health encounters per year to an average client base of 1,200 individuals.

In 2005 MHS became a new access point Health Resources and Services Administration/Bureau of Primary Health Care (HRSA/BPHC) Section 330 Community Health Center (CHC) providing comprehensive primary health care in the Greater Wasilla/Meadow Lakes region of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. The primary health care clinic began operations in October 2005. By adding medical services, MHS continues its 30-year history of delivering services to its target population of the uninsured and underinsured in an innovative and progressive fashion. We are one of a handful of agencies that have integrated behavioral health with primary care under the same organization.

The Vision of MHS is a physically and behaviorally healthy community.

The Mission is to improve the availability of compassionate and comprehensive, quality primary and behavioral healthcare services regardless of cultural barriers the ability to pay.

The Values of MHS are Respect, Innovation, Service, and Excellence.
