Islands Community Medical Services (ICMS) has served as a beacon for care on Vinalhaven for 70 years - and our doors remain open to residents, vacationers and visitors, alike, from all walks of life. Our goal is to ensure the 'family' component in 'family medicine' remains strong by assisting individuals and their loved ones with medical needs, and by coordinating necessary dental, behavioral health and specialty care.
We at ICMS believe whole-heartedly in meeting people where they are at, whether this translates to working with patients to manage a chronic condition, provide patient education, facilitate and host support groups, or help patients with setting goals for the health of themselves and their families. We are extremely proud to not only greet patients at our office doors, but also to have dedicated providers who will meet patients at their door when needed. Yes - we still do house calls!
Our supportive programs include dental and behavioral health services, physical therapy, and outreach and enrollment for health care coverage. There are two certified application counselors (CAC) on staff to help individuals explore their options for health insurance and navigate the Health Insurance Marketplace.
