Bullhook Community Health Center

Bullhook Community Health Center is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) 501c3 community based health service organization in Havre, Montana, serving the residents of Hill County and surrounding areas. Bullhook became a 330 HRSA Grant recipient in July of 2007 and has grown from a staff of less than 10 to over 67 in the year of 2016. The budget in The Board of Directors is comprised of more than 51% consumers of services. Bullhook Community Health Center is located at 521 4th Street in Havre and houses Medical, Dental, Addiction Counseling, Mental Health, Pharmacy, Medicaid Health Improvement Program, Outreach and Enrollment Program, and the Montana Asthma Program. Bullhook is also a Montana State Licensed Addiction Counseling Facility.

Bullhook Community Health Center was born from the Hill County Health Consortium that was started in 2004 and led by the Hill County Health Department. Using the Mobilizing Action through Planning and Partnership tools, the group of dedicated individuals and service agencies conducted needs assessments a gap analysis and identified existing programs in the community.  Access to medical and dental care were identified as a major concern and priority. Throughout the years, many of the sub-committees and the Health Consortium have remained active and continue to access for needs and priorities of the group and community.

Bullhook Community Health Center is open to everyone, regardless of residency, age, race, religion, insurance, or ability to pay. A sliding fee scale is available based on income and family size. Payment plans are also available. Bullhook staff provides assistance to help patients find and apply for needed programs such as prescription assistance, insurance eligibility, housing options, and other basic needs. Case managers are in place to assist patients with coordination of services with other health care providers, including specialists.
